Another massive blast hits Nigeria within the last 24 hours, this time in Gusau, capital of Zamfara State. A petrol tanker exploded today along Igala Quarters bypass. Three people were reportedly killed in the blast.
The tanker, owned by the oil marketing company Conoil, was negotiating a sharp bend opposite the NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation) station when it skidded off the road and somersaulted several times before bursting into flames.

An eyewitness alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle because he was exceeding the allowed speed limit. The driver and two passengers of the tanker were killed instantly.
As of the time of this report, firefighters were seen on the scene of the incident trying to put off the fire.
